The CPOs are advisory to the Board of County Commissioners on land use matters affecting their communities.  CPOs are notified of proposed land use action and legislative changes within their boundaries.  They may review these applications and provide recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.

Initial Filing: 3/18/2024

The proposed changes approved in the 2021, 2022 and 2023 sessions are grouped as follows

  1. Accessory dwelling unit(ADUs) in rural residential zones (optional)
  2. Recreational vehicle for residential use as second dwelling (optional)
  3. Changes to standards for replacement dwelling in Agriculture and Forest zone (mandatory)
  4. Housing-related amendments, including additional allowance for affordable housing, ie, prefabricated structure; and single-rom occupancies (mandatory)
  5. Minor, non-substantive change to the Comprehensive Plan and ZDO for clarity and to correct errors.
