Neighborhoods

“One of the easiest and perhaps most valuable thing you can do is to take the time to meet your neighbors. Our resilience to disaster will be based in large part on the strength of our community. Get involved and help spread the preparedness message.” (Source: Clackamas County Fire #1)

One of the major goals of our CPO is to strength communication in our neighborhoods.  We want to make certain that accurate information is passed on to others quickly in times of emergencies.  And, we need to stay in contact with our seniors and with our friends with disabilities on a regular basis.

Board member, Bobbi Bryan, has already initiated a connection with neighbors in her area with a “phone tree”.  During the wildfires in September 2020, Bobbi began checking on her neighbors.  Having a connection with them also added support during the power outages from the ice storm in February 2021.

We would like our residents to reach out to others by volunteering to set up phone trees by areas – the people who live on our roads or streets.  Your phone tree could involve 6-12 neighbors who live close to you.

Please contact Bobbi Bryan if you would like to be the one who notifies others in your neighborhood.   We want this to be a coordinated and organized effort!
